Cannonball Bob Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Before I commit to parting with more reddies than I need to, has any got an intercom (with headsets) they're wanting rid of? Looking for the ubiquitous Autocom/Starcom gizmo preferably with the iPod connection. Ta.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 15, 2007 Leadership Team Posted August 15, 2007 Bob, a couple of our local lads made up his own headsets from Peltor ear defenders. They bought an intercom to go to Le Mans a few years ago (I think a Terratrip) and the comment was that the o/e headsets were nothing short of aweful - I think they're referred to as "practice headsets". They swapped the headsets for the "open face helmet" kit and then butchered a couple of Peltor ear defender sets, adding the intercom bits. The result was brilliant (and cheap!). Mark w Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 If you want cheap i have a Lidl motorcycle headset complete with two mike/earpiece units .Unused .£10 inc postage to you sir.
rgrigsby Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I know several people that have made up their own headsets to work with an Autocom system, as has been said just buy the appropriate speakers/mic and put them in some Peltor or similar ear defenders and it seems to work well.
