Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 14, 2007 Leadership Team Posted August 14, 2007 I'm planning on removing the rear wheel intrusion bar fitted to my SLR, but would prefer to be prepared with any replacement parts needed BEFORE I start 😬 Only part needed will be a new front A-frame mounting bolt if a longer one was used when fitting the bar. Anyone who's fitted a RWIB recall whether a longer bolt would have been used? Stu.  www.superse7ens.co.uk..........the rebuild 😬 Â
Nick Green Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 It was on my car (99, with underslung A frame mounts)
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 14, 2007 Author Leadership Team Posted August 14, 2007 Mine's also '99 with underslung A-frame mount. I guess I need a new shorter bolt then  Stu.  www.superse7ens.co.uk..........the rebuild 😬 Â
k80rum Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Just to add confusion, I've just added a RWIB to my '99 with underslung A frame mounts and used the same 10mm bolts on both side.. My rear wheel intrusion bar only adds the thickness of a large washer to the length of the bolt. Don't suppose you've got side impact bars that you're also going to remove have you Stu? I'm still hunting for a LH one.. Darren E Website and Emerald maps library Superlight R #54   Edited by - k80rum on 14 Aug 2007 17:22:01
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 14, 2007 Author Leadership Team Posted August 14, 2007 Sorry Darren, only a driver's side. There's plenty of threads exposed at the nut end of the bolt so I think I'll start by re-using the original. Stu.  www.superse7ens.co.uk..........the rebuild 😬 Â
