Removal of rear wheel intrusion bar?

[SLR No.77]

I'm planning on removing the rear wheel intrusion bar fitted to my SLR, but would prefer to be prepared with any replacement parts needed BEFORE I start 😬 Only part needed will be a new front A-frame mounting bolt if a longer one was used when fitting the bar. Anyone who's fitted a RWIB recall whether a longer bolt would have been used?

It was on my car (99, with underslung A frame mounts)

Mine's also '99 with underslung A-frame mount. I guess I need a new shorter bolt then

Just to add confusion, I've just added a RWIB to my '99 with underslung A frame mounts and used the same 10mm bolts on both side.. My rear wheel intrusion bar only adds the thickness of a large washer to the length of the bolt.

 

Don't suppose you've got side impact bars that you're also going to remove have you Stu? I'm still hunting for a LH one..

Sorry Darren, only a driver's side. There's plenty of threads exposed at the nut end of the bolt so I think I'll start by re-using the original.
