Support Team Shaun_E Posted August 13, 2007 Support Team Posted August 13, 2007 No sump gasket required - use Loctite 574 or similar. Use the same for the tower to bell housing interface. Edited to say - beaten to it by a much more comprehensive answer. Yellow SL #32 - member of Drowned Rat Racing Edited by - Shaun_E on 13 Aug 2007 16:07:56
AndyG Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 cheers guy's, look's like an evening ticking the bits off (i hope)
Jason Plato Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 if the parts are second hand then I imagine most of the list will be already fitted together ?. I would advise you to get along to view another instalation and it will be easier to see what lives where One thing that stood out for me on your list was the dry sump type clutch fork - this is specific to the DS and would be a buggar if you got to the point of instaling and didnt have the right one 😔 and also the mount for the pump > block and different specific engine mount bolts Ohhhhhhh !!! and a dry sump engine mount (drivers side) !! Hmmmm - think the rest is Ok lol dave
AndyG Posted August 13, 2007 Author Posted August 13, 2007 Cheers Dave, i do have the clutch fork, not sure about the brackets though
robmar Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Andy - there should be the mount of the pump to the engine in the box of bits the only bit I forgot to include as far as I can tell is the plate to block off the dip stick hole, which is on the engine you have as well if you spot anything missing let me know and I will have a route around in my bits to see if it is there and send on... "Another wheel thingy that looks like it runs with the belt" - this is the tensioner I think from your description and should have a micro switch attached to run a light to indicate if the dry sump belt fails if you get stuck give me a shout and I will see if I have any pictures, also it was all put togther so shoud be complete and correct rob
AndyG Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Cheers Rob Not doubting your sale , i am just trying to get my head around what is required, recieved the instructions from CC today so i will have a dry run on the garage floor.
John Howe Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Cut the centre out of a normal sump gasket and reuse it... Far simpler than using sticky goo, which takes hours to clean off, when ever you drop the sump. JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 230bhp Sausage delivery machine
