tweeky
i doubt you get a new vin plate ffom CC as you could use it to ring a stolen rebuilt car Tweeky In a purple haze

davef
When I changed my engine last year I just wrote the new number and capacity on the v5 and sent it off - DVLA accepted that and didn't ask any questions and I certainly didn't provide a copy of the receipt. scooter
Caterham will supply a new VIN plate. I called them first and they asked that I send in my old one to them. Cost £15.
JampJ
I think it just depends who picks your letter up at the DVLA. Some are more conscientious than others, Monday morning or Friday afternoon type of thing. Can you contact the engine seller and get a receipt, or ask him if it's ok for you to make one up. When you send in the new number, they can trace it to the last owner they have on record. Cheers John JFDI (Just F*****g Do It)
darren
thanks guys i think i will make up a receipt, read the letter again from DVLA says 'it has now become necessary for any changes to engine/ cylinder cap to be accompanied by supporting evidence' nice to hear i can update my vin plate thanks
