ge2
I need to get a new harness as mine is now 'out of date'. This one here looks like the obvious choice, but are there any alternatives before I shell out? Cheers, Graham
Peter Carmichael
I presume you know that "out of date" only applies to racing. Road worthiness is sufficient as long as it is intact with no fraying and has not been strained in an accident type situation.
ge2
Yep, it's for racing
shn7
Or you could go direct to Willans or Luke. If you speak to them direct I'm sure they'll be able to supply an appropriate option. There was a Willans bulk buy last year which meant that we got decent adjusters and reverse adjusters ont he lap belts. See here for bulk buy specs. Steve. ge2
Thanks Jonn, Saw that last night and I've been in touch with the seller. Wrong colour and not quite as pretty as the CC one, but £50 cheaper
peterg
That Willans set has the lovely light alloy Silverstone shoulder strap adjusters 🥰 it makes it so much easier to release the tension in the shoulder belts so you can lean forwards...and much quicker easier to tighten as well IMHO and that blue is a lovely colour
ge2
Very tempted. Just noticed from the bulk buy thread that they're for the left/right seat - I'd better check that.
peterg
IIRC they can be changed over - the only difference is the quick release buckle is on the 'inside' of the car so you don't dent the sideskin by throwing it outside the cockpit as you get out - to be honest, if you're careful, it can be avoided anyway to confirm it, give Stockbridge Racing a ring: Stockbridge Racing Ltd (Willans Harness) The Grosvenor Garage High Street Stockbridge SO20 6HE Tel: 01264 810712 Fax: 01264 810247 Internet: www.willansharness.co.uk Edited by - peterg on 26 Jul 2007 10:43:
Stationary M25 Traveller
The CC 4-point one was easy for a simpleton like me to change over the handing = the spring peg and the solid peg on the buckle. ****************** And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking... And racing around to come up behind you again. new link to photos

ge2
They were for the right side, and are a bargain. Deal has been done I've now got odd harnesses but I think I can live with that for the time being
