Anthony
On my engine (as opposed to Pete T's engine which was my spare) I have had an oil pressure issue. The issue has been traced back to a jamed Pace slim jim pump oil relief valve which jamed open. The pump is relatively new (two rolling road sessions, small amount of road work, less than 2 hours of track time), no muck found in pump. Anyone had any experience of the same? Pump on its way back to Pace Many thanks
Peter T
The Pace pumps are quite difficault to align, the sections are sandwhiched together with the clamping force of the four long bolts that pass through the sections. If rotation of the pump before final torquing up is not done then it is possible that some of the rotors become mis-aligned and cause it to bind. Tightening the bolts in sequence is also advised as you need to have the clamping force evenly distributed along the pump body. This however would not cause the relief valve to stick unless some swarf had become dislodged and found its way there. Reall the sections and body should be dowelled to prevent this in my opinion.
