Julian Thompson
Sounds OK to me but I would reserve the technique for areas that reaslistically you will need to access and maintain ? (Round the tunnell, for example?)
scooter
Hi Julian. Just remembered to say that the wings arrived - what a mess... had a close look at them and saw that the resin had cracked / lifted all over the surface and not just at the main point of stress! Oh, and I've still heard nothing from the courier company re. compensation! Never mind...
Julian Thompson
☹️ Chase them Scott - they're all terrible for sticking claims to the bottom of the pile if no comms. keeps poking them. Also DHL want to come and see me about an account next week.... If you email me that consignment number I'll open the conversation with a "Let's see if you can help with this before we talk.... 😬) PS see master cylinder advert 😬
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted July 12, 2007 Leadership Team Share Posted July 12, 2007 Scott - are you talking about the interior or exterior panels? Surely for the work involved in what your planning it's going to be nearly the same as doing a proper original job? I've repanelled the whole inside and there's not a lot to it other than the need for enough time to do it all correctly. Have you also considered the extra depreciation that you'll suffer by makinging the chassis so far removed from standard? Engines are a common change, chassis are normally left alone. If you're repanelling and keep it more original your hard work can actual increase the car's value. Is your reasoning that you're too far away from Arch to get it done there? scooter
Yeah, that's part of it Stu. I would take it to Arch in a shot if it was more accessible!
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted July 12, 2007 Leadership Team Share Posted July 12, 2007 For the time that's involved taking it to Arch even from Edinburgh - that's the route I'd take. I did the interior panels but for outer panels there's no question about it ..... Arch www.superse7ens.co.uk..........the rebuild 😬
