Cibie 7" dia headlamp lense

Anybody help - need a replacement headlamp lense to replace one holed by a stone on route to the Nurburgring last weekend. 7 inches diameter, removed from the drivers side.

Identification markings on the front of the cracked one are Cibie IODE 14

Identification markings on the rear are Valeo 0824397, manufactured 06/06/1994, 66700589.

I think I've got a Cibie lens in the attic from my 1993 1400K ss.

 

I broke the other side and ended up replacing both lenses with Ring Halogen items from a local motor factors. As fitted to classic Mini's I believe.

 

The Ring ones fit the headlamp bowls better (Cibie lenses are usually a bit loose) and give a better pattern.

 

You are welcome to the lens for a small donation to NTL (I'll pay the postage).

However, I'm not sure how well it will survive in the post!

 

If your interested, I'll find it and check the ID marks.

Thanks for the response Brucey, but I've now managed to sort a new replacement, just waiting delivery.

 

For future ref - the latest part number is Valeo 082439 or alternatively 7" H180 H4, Cars GB (01629 650800) - £23.00 inc vat + carriage, I dealt with Les.

No problem, glad you got it sorted

 

Just a word of warning, be careful how you fit the new unit as Cibies are a bit looser than standard units.
