rj
Is this a fair price: here another Dane has fallen in love with it, and is asking be, but what do I know about Lotus' S4 - apart from that I haven't fallen in love... /r
paul jacobs
Well, it certainly looks in pristine condition, the problem is that you either like the S4 or you don't. it would seem that many do not! if it was an S111 in that condition it would be woth double, so I guess that £10k is about right, but an S4 in average condition would be pushing hard to get £5-6k, so work it out from there Paul J. Ray Gamma
I noticed that car for sale around April / May. If it's been there for a while then I'm sure you could get it for less. Rob
Gambo
Love it or hate it , it is apiece of history. It does look imaculate, if it floats your boat then I would say it's worth that price all day long. RED 2.0 HPC 230BHP here
Sheds Moderator
If you like S4s then that's as good as they get. You can of course get an excellent Caterham 7 for that money, but (a) it's not a Lotus and (b) it's not the same thing. Price up an average S4 (5-6k?) and restoration to that standard and this starts to look like a very cheap car.
Mark Durrant
Andy Noble described the Series 4 as having the 'beach buggy look' on the Sky coverage of the 50th anniversary meeting at Donington. Mark D Comp Sec

Big Brother
Andy Noble described the Series 4 as having the 'beach buggy look' on the Sky coverage of the 50th anniversary meeting at Donington I'd describe it as a mistake.(The S4 not Mr Noble's comments) Thankfully, one that didn't last too long (although it obviously sowed the seeds in a yound Mr Westfield's mind) Steve SE7EN-UP! Ever noticed that the word enviromentalist contains the word mentalist!

Sheds Moderator
Didn't spot that bit Jono, that does devalue it.Even if a XF is cheaper and a Zetec is a better engine to drive.
S47zz
NickH7 You could be right about the sweetest handling part - Some pilock call J coats get the S4 banned from UK racing in the 1980's when a privateer driving an S4 was beating all the works sponsered Cats including Mr coat's in the 7 race series 😬 😬
