Kevsta
Justa quick question, my water pump had a small leak. at the weekend I changed the water pump. Should I change the cam belt too as it did get some water on it (with anti-freeze)? The belt is two years old (only done 3000 miles tops!). I know I could just change it but wanted to know if I NEED to or not. Was planning on change next year (like to do all belts togther and next year will be DS, alt and cam). Cheers
Sheds Moderator
Leave it another year. Water and AF will not damage a cambelt.
Kevsta
Great! Thank you. I thought it wouldn't but best to ask. I know oil would be another matter though! Kev
CageyH
If it is off,and you are worried about it, change it for the wider Piper version. Will you be happy revving to 7,600 rpm knowing what you know now? Only dead fish go with the flow....!
