New Cat
If you've done a Megajolt intall, which ECU, coil pack, EDIS, trigger wheel, throttle position sensor did you use and where did you get them from? I've found this site which does most of the bits (except the ECU itself which I'm yet to determine a good source of) http://trigger-wheels.com/store/index1.html but it's probably quite an expensive way of doing it.... Thanks, Jon
Tom_C
I know the chap that runs triggerwheels, and I doubt you'd find an easier/cheaper way of getting the bits without rummaging around a scrapyard for Mondeo coilpacks etc. BTW please give generously to Bundle's Big Charity Walk for Asthma research here Ta. Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted July 3, 2007 Area Representative Share Posted July 3, 2007 Jon Did you meet Oliver Sedlacek at Penn? He installed a Megajolt and has written some details on the other side here. You will see he has also put in a link to some photos. He still drops in at the Penn meetings (long way for you now) so I could ask him... (however he is selling his car, so I don't know for how much longer he will appear at Penn) GJT Crossflow 524 still jumping sideways 😳and ☹️
Pezky
You can buy the Megajolt box from here: www.autosportlabs.com technical info/forum/maps etc here: www.autosportlabs.net If you buy direct from the USA you will have to pay UK VAT and a parcel force "handling charge". I bought the EDIS bits from ebay, but triggerwheels are probably better, especially for HT leads - a bit difficult in Halfords try to find leads for a Caterham with Megajolt fitted The weber TPS and trigger wheels kits are very good, if a little pricey. Easy enough to fit with the engine in the car. If you blatmail me I can send you some pictures. Jonathan
MonkeyBoy
[Hijack] On the subject of HT leads - which ones do i need to ask for in Halfords ? Or has anyone got a link to the ones i need to get ?? [/Hijack] Throttle pot sensor can be bought cheaply from RS, though you do need to fabricate a little bracket and small extension rod - not too difficult though, i'm a complete numpty and managed it, not got the rest of the installation sorted out yet though.... I got the trigger wheel from a Ford dealer for £17.81, Ford part number 41461556, i think the tricky bit is going to be fabricating the mounting for the trigger wheel. Unsure yet how i'm going to do this, but i think some kind of spacer would work well as Oliver has used I got the coil pack etc from E-Bay (not yet mounted) and bought the Megajolt kit and soldered up myself. If you go down this route i have some of the components (resistors/capacitors etc) spare as you can only buy some of them in packs of 5 or 10+ Cheers Alistair
Pezky
Alistar If the coil pack is a 1st gen one , HT leads can be got from triggerwheels. If its not, I don't know! The problem with buying from halfords is that they can only search for make/model of car, on my car the coil pack is a lot further from the engine that it would be normally. You will be able to get spacers for the trigger wheel at triggerwheels.com Jonathan
