nickh7
Need two new 48rs whats the current cost ? Also currently on 185 14s but I've seen a few people running 195s. Can I fit this size on my rims and what would be the advantage? Nick h Its Yellow And Black and Makes me 😬here
caterhamnut
Hi Nick - not sure what the current cost is, but a quick call to George Polley will answer all your questions! 01354 688111 I ran 195's on our 14" rims - purely for reasons of supply (no 185's left) - I honestly cannot remember if I ran them on the front - if I did then the steering may have been heavier.....but I cannot remember. Rears looked a little wider, but we didn't need that extra width as we didn't have big power. Advantage...? Not really sure if there is any - yes, maybe a tad more grip purely due to slightly larger contact patch....but more expensive and heavier (not a light tyre to begin with!)Â www.mycaterham.com here Videos here 101,000 miles car
S47zz
I used 195x14 on 6" rims - I think they would be better on 7" though Car never felt secure like as if the sidewalls were flexing - 185 are perfect on 6" rims though.

Gee Whizz
For those of you doing the Polley Route; how do you get the tyre ont he rim? Local tyre place? Do it yourself? Polley does it for you? Gavin Striving to offer no value what so ever!
caterhamnut
I used local tyre place - very good place not far from you Gavin, in Lightwater, just off Jct 3 of the M3 - can never remember the name.....I'll try and dig out their details. I usually just turned up with the wheels and tyres (off the car) and paid cash of anything from £10-15 for the lot. VERY quick service (like 5-10 minutes) Alternatively I used the place in High Wycombe a few times - same prices as George Polley (they are both the main importers and will often recommend each other if one is out of stock) - prices include fitting (like Polley) but obviously they are a bit closer - Adams and Page...again, will see if I have details.... www.mycaterham.com here Videos here 101,000 miles car
