Tiny Tim
I have a pair of alloy bodied adjustable platform 2.25" Bilsteins with 'red' springs. They came off a 1997 HPC. I am considering fitting them to my car (also an HPC) but I have a couple of questions: 1. What rating are the springs? 2. What would the likely affect be of using these on the front of my car with standard Bilsteins on the rear (progressive springs). Alba 7
Tim, It does somewhat depend on what you want to do with the car? People seem to have preferences for different springs on road and track. If it is any help, my ex race VX came with M0 Bilstein dampers and unfeasibly short and hard race springs (in excess of 300lb). Changing the dampers to Nitrons to get some more ride height and the springs to 250lb has transformed the car from verging on the dangerous to a far more relaxed drive. If the red springs are in excess of 250lb (for road use) I feel they may be too tough unless you have perfect road surfaces down your way. Can't speak for the rears I'm afraid.
