MikeE
I'm going to put the new 2.3l Duratec in tomorrow and have a few questions: 1 - I know the gearbox to bell housing bolts should be torqued to 40lb/ft but what about the bellhousing to engine block bolts? 2 - Do I need to grease the gearbox input shaft splines (where they go into the clutch) or do you leave it dry? 3 - The gearbox (Road and Race 5 speed prod box with quaife alloy casing) came without a reverse switch, Phils sending it in the post, but can I fit it after the gearbox is in the car, i.e. can I get to it via the rubber grommet in the side of the transmission tunnel? Peter Carmichael
1) if they are smaller bolts then the torque *must* be less otherwise you will rip threads 2) dry 3) usually
