Petrolhead
Now that Bill Blydenstein's is no longer trading where do people go to get the 1.6 VX tuned as fitter to the classic? NE7Club Web Site R5 no 65 😬   Edited by - petrolhead on 26 Jun 2007 17:59:
CanAm
There was a link on Bill Blydenstein's site to a recommended tuner when he announced his retirement. May still be there. Alan The existence of chance is everything and nothing whilst the greatest achievement is the living of life.

CanAm
Don't know if this is the same one, but Googling found this :- Company: Blydenstein Engineering Ltd.  Address: Going Fishing - However work continues to my specifications Contact Trevor Gilbey, Workshop Manager Ivor Searle Ltd  I'm on the Ivor Searle site at the mo, but it is sooo slow. Sorry, I've been waiting ages for it to load and I've lost the will to live; hope you're on high speed Broadband. If you search Chitchat and Tech Talk under Blydenstein for the last few years I'm sure there was a mention of this.   Alan The existence of chance is everything and nothing whilst the greatest achievement is the living of life. Tom_C
Ivor Searle are in Soham, the same little town as me, but AFAIK they're mainly into reconditioning engines, not tuning them.  BTW please give generously to Bundle's Big Charity Walk for Asthma research here Ta.  Cheers Tom FH54WLX see here - UPDATED again

IKB
It doesn't look as if Ivor Searle is the answer to VX tuning. Strange that someone from Bill B's establishment has not continued his magic with these engines. BB was the dogs whatsits when it came to extracting power from Vauxhall engines of this period and had a similar talent as Daniel Richmond of Downton showed with BMC A series; he was also involved with Cooper Cars F1/F2. Gerry Marshall owed a lot of his success to Bill's tuning prowess so is there anyone out there who knows any of Bill's former people capable of cylinder head wizardry? The answer is not just to increase cubic capacity in the search for more power but to unlock the potential of the existing engine. CC had already increased the power from 60bhp to 105bhp with inhouse head polishing/webers and free flow manifold but there is still more to be unlocked by someone who knows. Where are they?
IKB
Since posting my last item I have found waldenengineering.co.uk in Aberdeen who specialise in Vauxhall tuning and are out of BB's former business. They claim 25% increase on the 8v engine with their head and cam. These are similar outputs to BBs conversion. Does anyone know of this firm; a long way to go but sound interesting and they have a caterham on their website!
