grumpy the 7th
K Series engine........ Is it just a case of getting a mechanical gauge a pipe and a thread adaptor for where the electronic Cabaenet? oil pressure sender screws in to the oil filter housing. Or is there more kit involved???? I've had enough of the electrical gauge not reading when the oil gets warm rog C7 TNT - it's Dynamite!(Honda Irish Green and Peugeot Graphite grey) Edited by - roger heeley on 20 Jun 2007 12:59:
Grubbster
That's pretty much it - do a search, the full details were posted last week Edited to add this link to the parts list This covers everything including a pressure switch and warning light. Call Think Automotive and tell them what you want to do, they are very helpful and will send you just what you need Edited by - Grubbster on 14 Jun 2007 19:25:
Apothecary
Yes that it , unless you want to also include a pressure switch to run to a light in the dash. If so, you will probably want a T piece and mount to a chasis rail. Think Automotive will sell the full kit at discount to club members. Steve T
I did mine last week, I mounted the 3 way block to the front right had side of the engine block low down using a 'spare' tapped boss in the block just above the sump line, the 14" braided hose was a perfect size to go from the oil filter fitting to this point, it is bolted on with a bolt of the correct size (sorry dont know the exact size). The only thing I found was that the 7 ft of hose supplied (which I upgraded to braided hose) was far too long to reach the guage, i have 3 or 4 foot spare behind the dash in a loop which almost extends to the wiper moter and back.If you mount the block where i did you may wish to ask for a shorter instrument feed maybe 4ft but better measure it first. I can send a pic of where i put it if required. Steve 4,000 miles so far and counting ! Now with DVA Power ! 191bhp and 150.9 lbft torque. CageyH
Depends on the age of the car. Either a 12 x 1.5 mm or a 10 x 1.0 mm (like mine). Only dead fish go with the flow....!
grumpy the 7th
CageyH, mines a 2000 - what year's yours and what thread do you have rog C7 TNT - it's Dynamite!(Honda Irish Green and Peugeot Graphite grey)
CageyH
Mine is a '97, and has the M10 thread. I think yours will be the M12 thread.... As far as I know, the M10 was only around for a few years. Have you got an old oil pressure sender around? Only dead fish go with the flow....!

grumpy the 7th
SORTED - Almost! up tp 98 it's M10 and post 98 it's M12 OK next question. Do I have to bleed the capilary tube so the oil appears at the end which connects to the gauge (ie no air in the tube)??? rog C7 TNT - it's Dynamite!(Honda Irish Green and Peugeot Graphite grey)
Tony C
You can if you want, but it's not essential BRG Brooklands SV 2.0L Ammo Duratec 😬 It seems that perfection is achieved not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away. smutly
Just ordering the bits as my sender unit looks to be faulty! My car is a 96 but had a complete new EU3 engine (1400 SS) fitted 4 years ago. I'm ordering both M10 and M12 just to be sure, but is it definitely M10 x 1.0mm as there are 1.0mm, 1.25mm and 1.5mm available. Posting says M10 x 1.0mm but don't want my back up plan to fail! Nifty
I thought all 1400SS engines were EU2 🤔 Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
