Banner Battery Dimensions???

I'm off to Le Sept next week and concerned about my battery and its complete lack of ability to hold charge. I'm picking the car up from a garage on Saturday morning but really need to make a decision about getting another battery before then.

 

Does anyone have their Caterham sufficiently at hand to measure the length, width and height of the standard Banner battery please?

 

I'm thinking of getting a Gel replacement but want to check I won't need to make major mods to fit it snuggly.

L = 18cm, W = 12cm (this is the size of the base that goes in the tray - slightly larger arond the top), H = 17cm.

Hi Newcat

I had the same problem and was perpetually pi**ed off with the Banner's ability to only just start the car . I ended up buying an Odyssey dry cell battery (PC 680) from PowerVamp which is not only smaller than the Banner but provides max output until flat. The key they say is to keep it on trickle charge all the time, which is what I've done, with an Oxford Oximiser.

Very pleased with the result.

Thanks Doug, how much was it roughly? Is it easy to secure it with the standard mountings? I'm tempted to get a similar Westco one but really need to order today....
