I have Zetec in mine = £116 fully comp agreed value 5000miles/year including Uk & European breakdown cover & recovery. with RH specialist car division, though I have another kit car for which A Flux is by far the best deal. I was surprised Flux was so expensive for the 7 though I can't remember how much their quote was.

Suggest you check the car magazines and phone around, being prepared to pay immediately if you get offered a good price *thumbup*

You just need to phone around to find a company that need your business, obviously Caterham and Flux do not need your business - hence the high quotes 😔

I'd be disapointed if I couldn't find insurance for a duratec 7 for less than £300, I live in a low insurance area - obviously that makes a difference too *thumbup*

Pat,

I think the problem may be that you're now looking at insuring a car with more than 200bhp. I seem to recall a number of the insurers hike the prices when power gets this high.

I'd keep shopping around. If you do a search in chitchat for insurance you'll find loads of compnaies referred to.

I'm only 27 years old *biggrin* and i pay £240 with Adrian Flux. This covers me for my Seven, complete with Zetec Upgrade, up to 200bhp, so perhaps this is the threshold; i.e. beyond this, the costs soar.

My girlfriend is also insured, she has 3 points (SP30), but hasn't driven the Seven in months.
