Ipslore Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Hi, A bit stumped. 1994 SS Crossflow. Wipac lamps. Turn on sidelight setting, both light up. Turn on main beam, only nearside lights not offside. Highbeam switch and flash both work fine. Have checked back of lamps for loose / broken connection but no joy - am I overlooking something obvious Many thanks, Andy
Normans_Ghost Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Check the earth and then follow the wires back from the n/s across the cross brace to the o/s. Also try swopping the bulbs over and see if the problem moves with them. Billyboy Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 dipped beam fillament in the offside has failed 😬 Although I must be missing the point here as this is far to easy Edited by - Billyboy on 9 Aug 2006 23:39:13
Normans_Ghost Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Think you're right but I was a tad more diplomatic. 😬 Norman Verona, 1989 BDR 220bhp, Reg: B16BDR, Mem No 2166, the full story here You and your seven to The French Blatting Company Limited
Ipslore Posted August 11, 2006 Author Posted August 11, 2006 Chaps, Thanks for your comments - having finally stripped both sets down and swapped them over the n/s headlight doesn't work when moved to o/s so I think it must be relay or switch or wiring but as least it ruled out the sealed beam unit Thats my weekend sorted in the garage then 😬 Cheers, Andy
