Dickie Normuss Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I've foolishly agreed to fix the bumper on a friends car after he reversed into a post and reckon it'll be easier to work on it off the car. It's a '97 saloon, anyone know how it comes off, I assume it'll be the usual selection of clips and screws but want to avoid any suprises Seek forgiveness, not permission. LazerBrain Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I asked my mate as he has a Mondeo and the bumpers are very fragile. His reply was basically along the lines of, "too much hassle, use gaffer tape instead!" 😬 cheers, Darren.
Tony Whitley Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 A length of chain and a lamp post should do the trick
Big Brother Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Or if you ask Tony nicely - he can try to take it of with one of his rear wings 😬 Steve SE7EN-UP! The difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know, and I couldn't care less!
JimB Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 About 50% of all Mk 1 Mondeos you see on the motorway have flapping rear valances. Design fault or have they all had intmate moments with lamp posts?
Dickie Normuss Posted August 9, 2006 Author Posted August 9, 2006 It's a Mk II. Any useful info out there???? 😬 Seek forgiveness, not permission. Rules are for the interpretation of wise men and the obedience of fools.
CharlesElliott Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Mondeo Saloon/Hatchback 1996-2000 2 mud flap screws, 2 tip screws behind the inner shield at the top, 2 nuts inside the inner wings, 3 torx head screws along top edge and one clip underneath bumper, 4 nuts on rear panel.
