Rev counter earth - where is it?

My rev counter is being a bit unreliable at the moment - it doesn't work at all and then after a while it'll start working properly, then stop again, and so on. The connections going into the back of it seem fine and so, having searched Tech Talk, the next step would seem to be to check the earth. All the other gauges are working fine.

 

All I need to know is where to check - does anybody know where the earth wire ends up?

All earths under the dash are connected to the wiper motor bracket.
