Area Representative Richard Price Posted July 30, 2006 Area Representative Posted July 30, 2006 But it wasn't for my only two runs up Loton yesterday ❗ (but I didn't find out until today ❗) I went for a short run this afternoon, to listen for knocks and groans etc. I noticed a slight pull to the left, but, as I applied power, the car pulled to the right! As I drove along trying to work out what it might be, I tried going on and off the power as I would have done yesterday afternoon. I had to make quite significant corrections to the steering to stop it jumping off the road ❗ I think its all to do with the diff. I have been loaned Marks buffed 195/45 Stunner, but my tyres are almost new. Putting my front tyre onto the back has cured this very odd handling I just hope Caterham are in stock of replacement wheels.
Graham Perry Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Richard, check the rear alignment as well. I had a similar thing happen several years ago when I had significant toe in on one side. To be honest it was quite scary
Area Representative Richard Price Posted July 30, 2006 Author Area Representative Posted July 30, 2006 Graham, Yes, I've checked the rear toe, and found the axle to be slightly skewed, but not bent. Loosening all the fixings and then pinching up again straightened it all up again.
Jeff S Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Richard, I have a set of wheels in the garage If you want to borrow one until you can source one your welcome to it Jeff
Area Representative Richard Price Posted July 31, 2006 Author Area Representative Posted July 31, 2006 Jeff, Thanks for the offer, but I've got a new wheel on the way from Caterham.
