CageyH Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I have the tank and all the other parts, I just need the hoses. What are the specifications of the hoses? I take it I can get them from Think?
CageyH Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 Would it be a worth while Modification to install dry break quick release joints in the hoses to make changing an alternator belt easier?
mav Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Call Think Auto. ask for Matthew. Mention the CLub to get the discount. Explain what you need. Dry breaks are mucho moolah, and not really needed. It can be a little awkward removing the belt with an apollo fitted, but it is certainly doable...
Myles Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Mention the discount up-front. Some of the chaps get a little tetchy if they've already taken your order as they seem to have to write it out all over again with the discount... I'm with Mav on the dry-breaks. How often do you expect to replace your alternator belt??? Project Scope-Creep is live... Alcester Racing 7's Equipe - 🙆🏻™ Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
mav Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Mention the discount up-front. Isn't that what I said 🤔 Edited by - mav on 27 Jul 2006 23:01:07
Phil.Merry Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Rather than fit the dry break connectors, I suggest fitting a spare alternator belt, tie wrapped to the oil hoses ready to be installed if the primary belt fails. Then when you do an oil change, you can line up a new spare alternator belt. Phil Merry - The only Bright Yellow 1.6K Supersport in Dublin - Boy does it get attention !!
mav Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 The spare belt is likely to be perished by the time you come to fit it, as it will be subject to all but the rotation that the 'in service' belt is battered with. Its really not difficult to fit another belt, assuming you do not have a laminova plumbed into the apollo connections...
Nifty Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Blimey Kev ..you should have brought the 7 back from Toulouse .. you could have blatted back with the VHPD installed. What happenened to the "I'm in no rush, it'll be fitted over the winter" 🤔 *tongue* I have a spare belt that's in p-lace and cable tied up to the top chassis cruciform .. I don't expect that to be perished should I require it. Keep off the straight and narrow 😬 Edited by - Nifty on 28 Jul 2006 19:38:26
Nifty Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Hang on a minute .. what hoses are missing 🤔 If you mean the ones to and from the Apollo to the filter housing plate are they not in the box of bits *confused* Keep off the straight and narrow 😬
CageyH Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 😳 I have to admit I have not looked thoroughly through the box 😳 If they are there Back in France now though... Just getting things ready to transplant the engine before I get my pushrod suspension installed and the car set up by Freestyle.
