thinfourth Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Okay it appears my battery is fecked Now normally would go for a nice banner or something however I live in the north os scotland and i have a trackday tomorrow night is there a chance i can get one in halfrauds or similar? The happy handle made me do it here
Molecular--Bob Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 If you have a local varta stockist they have a battery that fits the tray, but the terminals are reversed, so your cables may not reach. I have one on my cross flow but have relocated my tray so not an issue for me. Product code is Varta YB60-N24L-A (530-030-030) 12v 30Ah motorcycle battery.
paul jacobs Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Well, when the battery in my 245bhp Vauxhall 16v powered 21 needed replacing, I used a Lawn Tractor battery, with no ill effects. It was mounted in the boot too, and it always turned the engine over with alacrity. Paul J. Life is what happens, while I'm planning something better!
Jorgen Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 lawn tractor battery is just fine. It might not reach the same Ah (ampere hour) as the banner, but it will not be far of. And they come with the right terminal arrangement. Jorgen
Chris W Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 it always turned the engine over with a lacrity Is a lacrity better than a starter motor then? Give us the details - don't keep it secret. 2003 1.8K SV 140hp see it here
paul jacobs Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Lacrity's do the same job as the old fashioned starter motor, they are just the modern alternative and they weigh substantialy less. Are you still using that out of date starter motor then? I thought everyone had a lacrity now, especially on a K engine!
