Tunnel top doesn't fit

Either my gearlever is in the wrong position or the hole in the tunnel top is.

 

Are there different tops for either type 9 gearbox or CC 6speed?

 

Mine is the 6 speed box, the hole seems to be a couple of inches too far to the front of the car ☹️

 

Is there an obvious catch here or has something just gone wrong...

 

The chassis is R400 race 2001.5 spec (handbrake under dash)

No difference between the gearboxes in this respect, not sure what you have done

There is a difference in x-flow to vx posistions, about an 1".

Have you a race chassis?

Regin, Have you missed something out. Not in the mechanical sense but was it fitting before? What has happened that it doesn't fit now?

Yes, it's a race chassis, as in my initial posting R400 race 2001.5 spec.

Could you measure the distance from the lateral bit of the scuttle to the gearlever when the 'box is in neutral on your R500?
