colincagain Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Any uptodate feedback on the relative merits of these rolling road operators please? Scark Race Engineering, Amesbury Janspeed Salisbury Spamspeed Thornbury Bristol In this case looking to put a big Jag on it rather than a Caterham! thanks Colin
Jason Plato Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 spampseed probably tell porkies 😬 😬 here is C7 TOP South Wales AO
Dickie Normuss Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 😬 😬 Seek forgiveness, not permission. Rules are for the interpretation of wise men and the obedience of fools.
Casbar Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Brian Slark (Slark Engineering, Amesbury) top bloke, more a mini specialist, but a mate put his Cat (xflow) on it, and he did a good job. Don't know much about Janspeed (even though I live in Salisbury). There is another one in Cranborne, just south of Salisbury, again a mini bloke, but I put my old xflow on that one, and he was pretty good
CageyH Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 I have heard good things about spamspeed, but have never personally used them.
CageyH Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Isn't there a Rolling Road in Cheltenham, that some L7C members have used?
Manxseven Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 *arrowup*Cranborne Bloke is Steve Harris, top bloke here Caterham Fireblade here
DW Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Colin, I'm just south of Evesham and went up the M5 to Aldon Auto in the black country last year - 01384 572553. They did a really excellent job for me. I have webers and and an ignitor (no ECU); they spent a good 2-3 hours getting the set up right and it's been great to drive ever since. David 1700XF: click here
colincagain Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 thanks guys ... will pass info on to my friendly local Jag owner
McBreadhead Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Haven't used him myself but Tom Airey near Winchester gets lots of plaudits and seems to specialise in carbs for classic and performance vehicles.

cskip Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 As Casbar has mentioned I have very recently had my Xflow on the RR at SRE. They are very helpful and I certainly came away with a better car. Admittedly I was there for a whole afternoon mapping my new 3d ignition system. I would certainly recommend them, top service. I have also used Tom Airey in the past, twice in fact. He certainly knows his stuff, but boy do you pay for it! Skip. West Hants Luddite See CSKIP here
