ben7 Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Any ideas what a sealed 1600 k series engine from a 2005 academy car with 4000 miles would be worth? To include every thing - full exhaust system, ecu, starter, alternator, mounts etc etc etc. Thanks, Ben
Roger Ford Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Might Depend whether Tim Skipper is still selling his 2004 Academy car without an engine.
ben7 Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 Found Tim's ad, seems like he's selling the albeit broken engine with the car. I'll drop him a line just in case he fancies mentioning that he knows of an engine for sale. Any ideas what it's worth? Presumably it would be suitable for putting into one of the vx race cars that now run in the grads (or is it super grads ) Help would be appreciated. Ben
h_____ Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 you mean supergrads (or megas). Speak to McMillan motorsport, there was a mega at anglesey that put a conrod through the block! Might be worth tying up with that? or post on www.graduates.org/forum.
Tom_C Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 No point in putting it in a VX grads car, as the K series supergrads are dedion, and the VXs are LA. Cheers Tom FH54WLX - only the car supports ManU, honest! see here - UPDATED
ben7 Posted July 17, 2006 Author Posted July 17, 2006 Thanks for the post on the forum h___ . Tried McMillan but they're not interested. Tom C, you're absolutely right, doh! Ben
ian.hoper Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Hi Each For what its worth our local breakers "Ring and Bring " get a good few in and one recently from a MG sports all bashed up(engine all fine no damage) and I asked how much as told it had done 30k miles and told £350. If you know the right one may be a way? good luck Ian Hoper
James Cummings Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 No idea what it's actually worth, but my 1600 K SS went for £1000. Shifted it pretty quickly at that price. Edited by - James Cummings on 18 Jul 2006 16:53:07
