Today my car ran like a pig, firing on three cylinders. *mad*

Seeing as the gearbox also has to come out for a rebuild, syncro gone on third it is timeed right. *confused*

The R500 has serious reliability faults, also the clutch release bearing is shot. It has only covered 5000 miles. *thumbdown*

Pete, what a wind up, all fixable but a bit tedious.

I am sure Phil can turn around the gearbox swiftly and add a couple of his magic tricks to make it even better.

There must be a market for a reliable CRB !

Good luck with the repairs, sorry its in the middle of summer ☹️

Did CC change supplier or spec for the CRB some time after 1994?

My car is 12 years old, 32,000 miles, no CRB problem ever.

It was the manufacturer, INA, that moved production from Germany to Brazil, German ones appear to last forever, the Brazilian ones don't, not sure when production changed but I'd guess around 2001/2002 Caterham have now switched suppliers to SKF

Thanks Mark.

A lot of problems seem to be traceable to CC looking for cheaper parts.

When I had 16" wheels I had to get a replacement which was not of the quality of the original set.

Nifty,

It's the only shiny bit of my car *tongue*

Apart from that Mark is correct. It's a VW integrated slave cylinder that I hope is up for the job.
