Das Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Can anybody tell me how the front bonnet hook is fasterned on , there is very little room behind before the nose cone , not enough room for a nut , would also think a pop rivet would stick out to far.
DohNut Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Are you talking about the bottom of the spring 🤔 Mine is held on by an 8mm nut - a pain to get to but not disasterous Nick
Das Posted June 19, 2006 Author Posted June 19, 2006 No not the spring but the catch on the bonnet ( the bit the spring goes on ) Edited by - Das on 19 Jun 2006 14:01:17
DohNut Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 Mine are rivited I think the rubber strip on the nose cone and the cut-outs for the Dzus give enough clearance. If you are removing them I would be interested in suggestions as I need to lower my rear hook by about 3mm I suppose I will drill out the old rivets and try new holes , or elongate the current holes 🙆🏻 Nick
Nigel Riches Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Be sure to reinforce the ali around the area where you have the rivets for the "hook" , a small ali plate 20 swg, and a couple of washers on the inside should do the trick, else the bonnet material will distort, and the fixings may pull out of the bonnet.
