I experienced a valve failure a week ago

I ordered new valves and spring (for the A2 cam)

Std cam for the sprint engined caterham I own

I had previoulsly double spring and a change for the FP400

single but normally the recommanded one...

Yesterday I took tne car and some pop and bang more than usual !!!!

I took of the bonnet and I found on the road a hot flow from the exhaust

side on the central double pipes

More exactly I suspect that the pipes was tighten enough to the head or the new gasket blown

I check this morning, replace the gasket from Burton from another from them

but different one hole instead of the 2 holes pattern from the same supplier

But when I fit the gasket I found that the gasket(big bore, silver colour)

seems to need sealent so I use some

7workshop are same gasket then Burton's ?

I saw thet some no use gasket but only sealent

Could these be the cause of my valve problem (on the same cylinder)

Many thanks

7 Workshop gaskets are not the same as Burtons.

The 7 WS ones are copper and have 2 advantages...

They seal extrememly well so are more reliable

They can be reused if you have to take the exhaust off again

Downside is they are more expensive than the Burton ones.

SE7EN-UP!

The difference between ignorance and apathy? I don't know, and I couldn't care less!

I use sealer too. White paste in a red tube. Can't remember the name.

Also your engine mountings could be worn out, allowing the engine to rock too much.

my engine mountings are in good condition

Stainless valves are much better than std ones ?

Where can I find some for my stage 2 head

Burton have only exhaust in this material ?
