spare wheel retaining bolt thingy..

in a recent house move i seem to have lost the big screw/bolt (cant think what this is actually called!) that goes through the centre of the spare wheel and screws into the back of the car to hold the spare wheel in place.

 

anyone got one of these lying around????

I had my car converted so that the spare wheel carrier was removable. Your welcome to come and have a look at how its been done if that helps?

That's exactly what I want to do. I can't imagine ever needing the carrier, but I dont want to lop it off and find me or the next owner wants it back.

 

Was it a simple thing to do?

its a fairly simple process, though i had mine done for me at the time, had only just got the car and knew next to nothing about them.
