Molecular--Bob Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 How do these work then? They seem to have both a slide and a buterfly valve, and i'm not sure why. Are they both controled by throttle or is one of them run by the ECU to reduce emissions?
Ferrino Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Sounds like the same system used on my Yamaha carbs - on these, the slide moves up and down according to the pressure difference between the carb and the space behind the 'slide' - the effect is to give a constant air velocity by varying the 'choke' size. You then have a tapered needle which sits on the slide and you get more fuel sprayed into the carb when the slide is further withdrawn. There's obviously no needle on the TBs and I guess the slide is automatic like on the carbs?
