MartinS Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Hi all, I'm currently using an ipaq (4150) to run Tomtom on, and the current car mounting kit I have is utter rubbish. It's the type that has a suction cup on the end of a long wire and a holder, and with the vibrations and movement in the 7 the thing wobbles all over the place! Does anyone have any suggestions or experience of a good solid ipaq cradel that doesn't wobble so much? I'm happy with the suction cup bit as I'd also like to use the ipaq in the tintop every so often. Cheers! M. Martin Saunders ohh, is it upgrade time? :)
Tom_C Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I've heard very good things about RAM mounts. No personal experience, but www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk do them with a return period. Cheers Tom FH54WLX - only the car supports ManU, honest! see here - UPDATED
neil.cavanagh Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 heavy duty velcro and attach it straight to the dash... works for me and cheap!
CageyH Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 I have a ram mount fitted in the 7, and it is good. I use this to locate my Origin B2 just in front of the gearstick. There are lots of different types to chose from, and finding somewhere to put it can be a bit of a challenge! You could mount it to the dash, possibly with a magnetic mount, bonded to the inside of the dash.
MartinS Posted June 12, 2006 Author Posted June 12, 2006 Thanks very much for the help guys, I'm going to start looking for a Ram mount (where is the nearest field? ) :) M. Martin Saunders ohh, is it upgrade time? :)
