Red SLR Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 A friend of mine has a 1998 Vectra 1.8 with Ecotec engine. He has a problem, he drives along the motorway each morning to work. After around 10 mins of driving the car just dies, revs drop to zero. This is whilst doing 70mph. Even with the clutch up its like this. He dips the clutch, turns the key and the engine starts and lets the clutch in again. I cant figure out what the problem is. It happens once on his way in and once on the way home, both times after around 10 mins of runnning. Anyone seen this before?
Simon Hancock Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Not sure if its the same but had exactly that problem with a Cavalier. Turned out to be the fuel pump relay. It was a common fault on them. Simon
Peter T Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 Cam sensor modules are prone to failure also on these. R500 Mango Madness
