Ben_SS Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 My S-types in my Roadsport are 10 years old now and although the leather is in good condition the plastic backs offer little to no support any more. Does anyone know if this can be replaced? Cheers Ben
timbo Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Yes.. Caterham supply the plastic backs... about £50-60. Its just a matter then of breaking the glue seal on the back, cutting a number of cable ties that secure the plastic backrest. remove the back section and rebuild. pretty striaght forward. Took me 30 mins last time. SV 2.3 Duratec and for the last time, no it is not a truck
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted June 9, 2006 Area Representative Posted June 9, 2006 Nothing to add except that to say that I understand that the newer backs are thicker and more robust than the old ones. Also I used long cable ties to support the plastic from one side of the frame to the other.
alan c Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 call oxted just had my old cloth seats refurbished to full leather by them and it seems they have used new plastic panels etc etc. look like new seats for a fraction of the cost of new from CC. Great service, agreed it all last friday, dropped them off on Wednesday and got them back this morning.
