Roadsport06 Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 On building I needed to put in the smoother brake pads as I have standard front brakes but I have more brake dust at the rears so do I need to get better front pads? I understand Mintex 1144 are ones people use but should I replace now or will the problem sort itself out? BRG and Yellow nose VU06 XZX
Roger Ford Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 🤔 You always get more brake dust on the rear wheels - presumably because there's less airflow around the disks. Certainly I wouldn't try to tune your brake balance by looking at how much brake dust there is. What you need is Pagid RS15s on the front, RS14s on the rear. Just £250 or so to you, sir.
Dartmoor7 Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 With standard brakes and pads all round there is often a rearward brake bias, fitting 1144 to the front usually solves this. Search will show plenty on this. 1144s about £40 or less. Jerry Parker L7 SVN 1400 Supersport
