When I put the immobliser key in the flashing red light will not go to a constant green it sort of flashes red and green. Can anyone suggest a solution. Looks like I'll be going to Oulton Park in the tin top this weekend ☹️

Sounds to me like a Vecta.

If so then the only solution is to cut it out of the system.

Having done a search on 'Vecta', it seems to be the answer. Thanks Nifty.

Thanks Myles, I don't have an Emerald or a laptop 😬

Dave,

I took mine out when it packed up and decided to drain the battery rather than immobilise the car

It is spliced into the loom so it is just a case of find where it is spliced in and removing and rejoining the wires that were cut to splice it in in the first place. Not easy with the loom in situ I would imagine (mine was out of the car when I rebuilt it).

You won't believe how heavy the actual immobiliser is

(It is behind the dash, above the fusebox, plastic cylinder about 5" long and 1.5 - 2" in diameter).

I also took mine out last weekend after it decided to fail, and stop the engine, whilst out driving.

Mine was only spliced into two parts of the loom, the ECU & fuel pump, and it was quite obivous what to reconnect to what.

Regards

Allen
