Wiper Motor bracket possibly?
She's not coming out from hibernation after all these years is she?
Hi Alan, she serpently is!
I'll go have a look now..
I don't know what to look for. I have taken several bad photos but not seeing anything that looks like a bit of chassis
Looking fro pics now, assembly guides etc
found a clue
". It is on top of the wipermotor bracked, but you need a mirror to see it."
....and if its been re powder coated over the years you may need to gently take the sheen off the powder coat with a blade which leaves the number visible as this area turns matt
oh great. It has just been back to Arch for sandblast and repaint/coat.
I think I need to see exactly where it is supposed to be. I have just spent a good 40 minutes with an endoscopic camera exploring, but I have no idea what I am looking for or at.
I have also tried poking a smartphone in anywhere I could get it and taken pics. Same result.
I found a stamped chassis number, but where is this:
pic taken during rebuild, not by me
My '87 BDR has it's VIN stamped on a bracket right in front of the left side footwell. Please excuse the state of my car, I'm working on that at the moment.
that would be under the battery tray on mine. Looks like yours was factory built. It's a very similar triangle. Mine was CKD (kit). Thanks for this I will have a look. Happy fettling :-)
Mine was delivered as a kit. I get the sense that there was a fair amount of variability coming out of Caterham at that time.
