Panini79
Hi, I'm a new member looking for my first 7. My only proviso is that it must be an SV chassis (I'm 6'4" tall) Happy to take on a bit of work if a project is out there and the price is right. Ideally want a Sigma but will consider othersThanksDan
Leadership Team Andrew 21 Edney Posted May 11, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted May 11, 2022 You've not said where you are or what kind of money you are looking to spend. Various dealers advertise in Lowflying. You can also do online searching (obviously) for 2nd hand cars, e.g.https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/12672035Not sure what's in the For Sale section of BlatChat at the moment, but you may need to change the drop-down for how far back you want to look for posts... SM25T
Depending on whether your height is in your legs or body, you might want to look for a lowered floor too. This makes a big difference.
BigCol
As above,Would see lowered floors as a "must" for you too (though they can be retrofitted - adapting an S3 to SV spec is a tad trickier )
Panini79
Thanks for the advice, sounds like lowered floors would be needed as well but I could get these retrofitted as you say.I am based around Caterham / Coulsdon area but will be happy to travel if the right car comes up.In terms of budget, as cheap as possible, ideally between 15-20k but I am aware that not a lot comes up in that sort of price range these days and those that do, tend to move quickly. StephenR
I'm 6'3'' and I've just got my first SV. It doesn't have lowered floors. I'm fine with it,I fit in ok and the driving position is fine. I have thought about having the lowered floors retrofitted for a bit of added comfort. I bought it from Gravely and Paine. They said when I bought it that it was easy to fit lowered floors. I think they said they could do it for about £450 per side. They also said it would be easy to do yourself if you were reasonably handy. I'm not that handy so haven't considered it myself. krisfl
Have you found GP Sevens? They're near you and have a range of SVs in stock. They're great guys and will help you find the right car. They'll fit lowered floors or any other mods you may want too. GP Sevens SV stock there is a nice looking 1.6 fixed cam sigma (150bhp) here at the mo for £18995 so around your budget.Have a look lowered floors will cost an extra £800 for Both driver and passenger fitted by them... good luck!
