bexxxhill
Well it would appear that the heater motor has packed up in my '97 xflow. Anyone got one for sale? Obviously a working unit would be great :)TIA
Wrightpayne
Which type is it - the slim low level metal box or the plastic one with a 7 moulded into the front?I seem to recall the plastic one has a classic mini heater core - not sure if they borrowed the motor too.(I don't have one BTW - might help with your search!) bexxxhill
It's the slim line metal one. I've been told that a Mk1 MR2 fan is the same ... we shall see :)
ChrisC
Not sure about that, but it looks like a remake of a Smiths heater, the core looks identical to a Triumph Spitfire heater. I think given how rare they are it might be time to look for someone who can rebuild it.
TANGO7
If it’s the metal Clayton heater, try Holden Classics - they may stock the motor
Wrightpayne
Years ago I repaired a friends heater from his very old Mercedes sprinter camper. Basically the bronze bearing had worn out and had about 1.5mm of play! Bit of googling and found a suitable bearing. A garage had looked at it and wanted several hundred pounds to fix it. They gave him a box of bits having dis-assembled it. Bearing was little more than the price of postage! Most things can be repaired!
