Auto electrician needed

Paul, I can't help with an auto electrician and definitely not local, but my advice would be to go beyond just "fixing" any issues and to try to return the car to original loom condition. My car was a complete mess from previous alterations and bodges particularly around the engine and after numerous breakdowns I decided to print a very large version of the o/e wiring diagram and sort it out properly, since then it's been totally reliable. Definitely worth the effort.

Hi Stu.  That's good advice and I'm trying to make sure that everything I do is done properly.  Most of the original loom is still good but the previous owner has cut a lot of cables in order to remove the wiring before the chassis went off for grit blasting and re powder coating and paneling, therefore lots os loose wires going nowhere.  And although I've got two wiring diagrams the car doesn't exactly match either and the (two) petrol pumps at the rear, on the seat back bulkhead, don't have a power supply and the fuel injection loom is obviously not shown, and he wasn't going to have a screen or wipers just an aero screen so he cut out that, and the immobiliser, etc, etc.

I'm trying to keep calm and approaching it with the philosophy " how to eat an elephant - one bite at a time.............".

Pete at 7 Works Automotive likes to build looms. He's based near Biggleswade and is well respected by the local Seven community. If the remains of the current loom bear little resemblance to the car, then commissioning a new one is likely to save you months of heartache in the future. It will also get your car on the road quicker *driving*
