Thanks to Simon and James for organizing this event in unusual circumstances.
While not feeling well enough to complete the day on track, I did manage to take some photographs of the action. Pictures here. If you would like a full-size image, let me know.
Regards, Ian
Ian - great to see you there (as always) and thanks for the photos; good work!
James
Ian - good to see you again on Monday; sorry you were suffering slightly.
Can I add my thanks to the track day organisers for putting on another fabulous event, this time involving a complex mix of novice and more experienced groups. As far as I'm aware, I don't think there was a single incident or even a yellow flag.
Please see DM re photo request.
Best wishes, Tim
As it was a novice day does that mean you do not need a trackday roll bar?
Afraid not, Nick; because the event was organised by the Club then, irrespective of participant status (and some novices turn out to be less novice-like than others!) the Club's requirements for ROPS apply in full. So a 'trackday' rollover bar or approved cage was needed.
The continued popularity of our Novice Trackdays (two arranged and sold-out this year) suggest that the rollover bar requirement is not an impediment to many members wishing to get on-track with the Club.

There is a photo in the link above showing a green 420 with Ocus wheels with a non FIA bar fitted?
Nick
Hmmm... So there is; not good.
There was a lot going on that day, but it shouldn't have slipped through. I, for one, completely missed it. I'll pick up with Simon. Thanks for drawing our attention to it.
James
A couple of us did notice that on the day but thought maybe the rules had changed.
