Cat2017
Hi all Looking at a xflow engine with the block number 681F 6015DA. Anyone have any info on this?It is stated as a 1700 from a mk1 escortThanks
OldAndrewE
I think 681F is an early Xflow. Apparently 6015 is the Ford part no. but no clue about DA. Are you sure it is DA and not BA (BA is 1600). As for if it is 1700 now only a bore measurement will confirm this. As for the original source of the engine no idea. Ideally you want the stronger 711M block
Beagler
I think they were only up to 1600cc as standard must have been bored. Having served an apprenticeship at a Ford main dealer, I wish I had a pound for everyone I'd rebuilt. 1.3 L (1,297 cc) 1.3 L (1,339 cc) 1.5 L (1,498 cc) 1.6 L (1,599 cc)
Drumster
Andrew, I always thought the AX block was stronger than the 711m? My AX was rebored to 1800 and rebuilt by Roger King.
OldAndrewE
Drumster, yes you are of course correct. AX is even better but I think 711M will be more readily available

OldAndrewE
Re #6, yes useful. As I thought no DA suffix so probably should be BA
