Jason Plato
I did mine just yesterday ...... apply plenty of wd40 and gently ease it around the rubber bush with a small screwdriver , leave overnite . Then apply a little heat to the underside of the collum where the rubber nipple sits and then pull like hell with a pair of long nose pliers ....... It a bugger , but the steering fells much better now teeth.gif Dave
wag
Gummi Pflege. The QR type column has a cut out at the bottom end which can be made to hook onto the bottom edge of the bush. Waggle it about a bit as you pull.
Peter Carmichael
Use the old column as a slide hammer. Just apply violence by pulling the old column out hard.
Support Team rob spencer Posted February 19, 2002 Support Team Share Posted February 19, 2002 I agree Peter. If its a collapsable column, just undo the clampholding the two bits together, take the steering lock off, and give it a good tug. i've just done done it on my SV. rob
Andy Best
Swapped mine just before Christmas used the Peter C method of removal - it's not as bad as it seems, the bush came out without too much persuasion and with no damage. Andy
