heptagon
My Sigma exhaust points down a little which means it grounds due the slope on my drive as I exit the garage. Is removing and then bending the bracket easy?
Member Jonathan Kay Posted November 25, 2022 Member Share Posted November 25, 2022 Could you add a side-on photo of the car showing the whole exhaust. And what's the clearance under the sump?ThanksJonathan
K7 VCT
Loosen the front clamp to the collector and simply turn the silencer to getvthe pipes tip upwards a bit ...
heptagon
I haven't got a full side on pic to hand and can't check sump clearance at the moment but here's a pic of the full silencer
SM25T
As above, slacken that front clamp and turn the silencer !
Tom_Arundel
I had to shorten mine by about 20mm.....took it to the local welder to get it re-welded (stainless steel)....been fine for the last 14 years

Amos91
They just seem to twist and droop easily where the clamp is between the silencer and cat. If you loosen the clamp and twist, you will be able to get the tip horizontal.
Roger Ford
The exhaust clamps are crap, so it's hard to get them tight enough to avoid the dreaded droop.Replacing it with a decent stainless Mikalor clamp will help. The other issue you may find with your setup is that if you rotate it to the proper angle, the rear exhaust mount bracket rattles against the side-impact bar, which is really annoying. you may need to change the bend of the bracket mounted to the car, or grind a bit off the part of the bracket which on the exhaust itself. heptagon
Thanks all, I'll try a little rotation of the silencer
heptagon
Yep, clamp backed off and silencer rotated upwards, I will see how it is when I next get it out. I may change the clamp as well anyway, a quick measure suggests it's about 60mm I think?
John Vine
I use one of these (Norma 63-68mm) on my R400D, but your Sigma may need a smaller one. You'll find the size stamped on the side of the clamp:JV
