heptagon Posted May 5, 2022 Share Posted May 5, 2022 I have been in touch with Oxted to get one of these, there are two thicknesses 1/2" and 1" and I'm going to pop in and try them. I already have lowered floors and don't want to be sitting much higher, has anyone tried the 1" ones? I guess the height difference when compressed is very little between the 2 options and I'd prefer the extra comfort for longer drives. Any thoughts? I'm not sure I'd want them any thicker than I already have though.Also ... if they get wet they're going to hold even more water than the thin ones. I discovered on a particularly wet trip to Spa that once they get a good soaking they take up an undesirable amount of boot space and take forever to dry out, so much so that I no longer take them on longer trips. ScottR400D Posted May 5, 2022 Share Posted May 5, 2022 I have the 1" ones and they're fine for me but my son who's taller and bigger generally finds they stop him dropping into the seat fully and the sides then hurt his ribs. Things to bear in mind from my experience:The Velcro supplied doesn't stick to the back of the Tillets well. I tried everything but ended up getting some 3M stuff that was better but still not that great. If the Velcro touches the scrim on the pads it rips it off the back of the pad and they soon get quite scruffy. So, I prefer them but they need a better solution for seat attachment and the leather needs to extend around the back where the attachment points are to stop the Velcro grabbing the scrim.
