Anton
I have a 2003 SV and want to fit locking wheelnuts - what match should I look for? - Ford?

Anton
Thanks - I'll have a look for them
Wrightpayne
I've taken them off the tintop - they are a PITA! Keys are made of cheese and risk getting lost.SWMBO had a puncture 150 miles away from home (else I'd have helped) and the AA man was very pleased with the lack of locking wheel nuts - by his comments they are a regular issue! Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted November 8, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted November 8, 2022 #4 Only if they're overtightened by some muppet in a tyre place! I've used the McGard version for over 20 plus years and multiple wheel swaps still in great condition.Stu.
Anton
Stu and SM25T - I've looked up McGard nuts on both Halfords and the company site - they give part numbers (for instance 24157SU) rather than saying which car they fit. Could you please tell me what the part number is?
OldAndrewE
The Demon Tweeks site lets you choose them by seat type, nut size, thread etc. It then gives you the McGard part no
Anton
Hi Andrew - thanks for the info. But there are a few small problems - they don't give you a specific McGard part number - they list six, all suffixed SL, whereas elsewhere they appear to be SU, so you can't check out other suppliers, they're twice the price of Halfords, even without the Club discount, and currently they don't have them in stock. So I'm still stuck, and need the actual part number of a set that have been fitted to a Seven. David aka Blue7
There is a set for sale here in the For Sale section, Caesar, I think they are the ones he got from me in 2019https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/forum/sale/trilock-locking-wheel-nutsMy local mechanic tells me they are a waste of time because he can remove them easily with a special wrench he has so any well equipped thief will have such a tool
SM25T
Recall I bought a set for a Ford SUV which had 5 nuts, so one for the spare wheel too.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted December 2, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted December 2, 2022 Quick update - these are the ones I bought from Demon Tweeks over 20 years ago, still look great, rust free and hopefully do their job ...
