Indoor (Garage) soft cover

Hi all - my first post so be nice! *woohoo*

I have just put a deposit down on my first Caterham which I will hopefully have in the next couple of weeks. I'll be honest, im counting down the sleeps!

2013 supersport SV 140bhp sigma

I have a newly built garage to protect it but also want to put a cover on it whilst not in use to protect it a bit from my 3 kids (6/4/2) and dust/light etc.

Has anyone got experience of a good cover that will fit well and provide adequate protection.

Options I have found so far are this one from "Every Car Covered"

Or the one that Caterham sell (3 x the price!)

Any other suggestions? I like the Caterham one because it has printed logo but as it is lycra not sure what protection it actually offers other than light/dust...

Thanks all!

Many years ago I had one of the cheapo non-woven covers similar to the one you've linked to and in truth it wasn't worth 50p! It's non stretch so only fits where it fits, it seemed to collect dirt like crazy and eventually got binned. I've now splashed out on the Caterham one and it's very good quality and fits superbly, having a stretch fabric makes a massive difference.

I do also have a Coverzone Voyager cover that I sometimes fit over the Caterham cover if the car's going to be stood for a long time, winter storage etc.

I understand that the following Classic Additions cover is the same as the Caterham one (just no logo, but this can be added if required as an extra).https://www.classicadditions.com/en-GB/indoor-car-covers/super-soft-stretch-indoor-car-cover/prod_10072
There is a Club discount as well.

I nearly bought one of the above but ended up buying one of these recently for £29.99

I'm pleased with it.  Fit isn't tailored like the Classic Additions one, but is pretty good.  Decent soft material.

Mine is an S3, but I'd say that it should fit an SV ok.

I followed the exactly same route as Adam; set my heart on the super stretchy Classic Additions one.  But once I'd seen good reviews for the Cosmos/Amazon one I couldn't justify paying about £100 more for the Classic Additions cover.

I did pay a few quid more to get my Cosmos cover in BRG. Only had it since November but very pleased with it so far

Congratulations and welcome, Billy.  Be sure to post us a piccie when she arrives.

As Stephen says at comment #9, be sure to take a look at the discounted suppliers in the Members' Benefits section.

I, too, have a Classic Additions cover, which I use inside the garage.  Nice and stretchy and soft.

I know there are some classic car owners who don't like using covers, as they're concerned that any dust or debris on the inside of the cover scratches the bodywork as the cover is put on and removed.

But then, hey!  We drive Caterham's and Lotus.  Just wait until you get your first dose of gravel rash!

*yikes*

I have the storm force voyager cover which I originally bought as a lightweight rain proof cover for my first Caterham trip to Le Mans.  It works equally well as an indoor cover.  I know this does not fulfil your request as a soft cover but to be honest I am not sure any cover is really going to work against three determined youngsters!

Good car choice by the way.  I have a 2012 Supersport 140 SV so could be marginally biased.

Another classic additions cover here.  Works well inside my garage to keep the dust off.

Never worried about the scratch to the paint between debris and cover as I take my car on track and inevitably end up exploring the 'outer' parts of the circuit!
