Gear lever brass sadle & spherical bearing question.

Further reading might point towards the items in the title. Can these items be got at and replaced simply by removing the tunnel cover and removing whatever is around the lever?

What would I need to be aware of if I removed the gear lever? what might drop off and could anything drop into the gear box?

which/what tabs need gently squeezing to prevent it falling off? Because if you squeeze brass it cracks!!!!

Also is the bearing easily removed and what size is it?
