Does anyone know where I can find a decent diagram, manual, or something for the type 3 gearbox? I've tried Cortina and Capri workshop manuals which are no help. The best I found so far are a couple of unlabeled drawings on www.bearingkits.co.uk but they're not that helpful.
The gearbox is having a hard time shifting into 4th. It seems to be a little smoother if I slam it over to the right side so maybe its a selector fork issue? Removing the shift lever didn't reveal anything so I don't think I can see a damn thing without taking out the engine and entire gearbox so hoping maybe a detailed diagram will help me diagnose a little before committing to removing everything.
I assume you're talking about a Ford three rail gearbox?
googling Ford three rail gearbox shows good stuff including images
According to Burton the type 3 is a single rail version of the Ford 4 speed

No it's the single rail version of the 2000E gearbox

Yes that is the correct gearbox but unless I'm missing something other than some parts there isn't a "guide"

.
Sorry, that was only to identify the box. I did not intend to imply it was a guide. I probably have something on the 3 rail version of the 2000E box if that is any use
